PS…Liquid Lipstick Review

DSC_1269

Lately I’ve been really into my nudes (well haven’t all of us), it’s certainly been a lipstick trend for some time now and it’s got us all going crazy to find the perfect nude tone to perfect our pouts. So it makes me very happy when I find a  nude lip shade that won’t break the bank and I it was of course in Primark where I discovered it.

So this one describes itself as a ‘liquid lipstick’ but lets face it, it’s basically a gloss. This one was 2 euro 50 and it’s shade is ’15’. It come’s out as a pale pinkish coral tone.

This one has a really pleasant smell. It smells of perfumed candy (just the description that comes to mind when I get a whiff). It’s tasteless however, so there is no worry of getting an unpleasant taste in your mouth.

It feels creamy on the lips and stays liquid once applied (just like a gloss). The color is rich on first application, so there’s no need to layer it up to get it to look the color it does from the product. I’m really keen on this liquid lipstick shade and I think it gives the lips a great, glossy pout.

I give the P.S. Love nude lipsticks a thumbs up and would certainly recommend them.

Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil Review

DSC_1253

I apologies if you are sick of hearing me (and everyone else in the world) obsess and rave about how great the new Maybelline Color Drama Matte Lip Pencils are.I was quite worried at first worrying if these going to be as pigmented as NARS, or if the formula would be creamy enough or dry like a regular lip liner. Until the moment I tried it for the first time, it’s MAGIC.COM!!!!

The formula of these lip pencils are beyond amazing! They’re so smooth, creamy and pigmented, also super easy to apply with the precise tips due to the nature of being a pencil. They’re not like the regular lip liners that would make your lips feel dry and uncomfortable. Instead, you could wear this all day very comfortably just like most of lipsticks. While being creamy, the color doesn’t move around much at all, therefore very long lasting on the lips. Usually I only touch up after big meals, and other than that I don’t even need to worry about the color coming off throughout the day.

I like how they come packaged (although I’m yet to sharpen one, but a jumbo one should do the trick). The squat pencil form makes them easy to apply, easy to store and easy to chuck multiple in your handbag at once. Totally and completely excited to see what other shades i can get my hands on.

PS.. Make-Up Brushes Review

DSC_1262

There is one if these brushes I do really like and one that to be honest I think is a waste of space. I’ve heard a lot about Primarks beuaty range in general and it was pretty good reviews so for the unbelievable price I gave it a go. I’ll give it to them with their design, I absolutely love it, the rose gold is beautiful and elegant and again so simple but effective. It imedietly caught my eye when I was in the shop.

The Beauty blender wasn’t great if i’m being totally honest. I did like the idea and got excited at the thought of having a beauty blender on a handle however it was much more difficult to use than I thought. It felt very unsecure when applying so I just held the blender instead of the handle, It gave very poor coverage. Soaked everything up like a dog when a childs dropped its food.My foundation I used is from MAC and is very expensive so it just doesn’t make sense to be using that much product when I could use less with a brush.  I would say it did blend fairly okish (i know that’s not a word) but overall the price was the only good thing about this product and i’d much rather pay the money for something that works properly.

The eye shadow brush however I was actually very impressed with, It applied the product very well and even blended it well too. I would recommend using a different blending brush to blend but if you were stuck this would actually do the trick. The other side to this is curved which I would probably use more for the under eye and blending that out, again I was really impressed with the application and blend. For 2 euro 50 it’s not a bad bargain.

Even though I didn’t like their blending brush I wouldn’t say that their brushes in general are bad because as we all know, its very hard to find a good beauty blender. I’m still on the hunt if anyone had any suggestions. I was really impressed with the eyeshadow brushes and actually look forward t seeing what else they come out with. I’ll definitely give it a go.

Sleek Matte Me Lipstick Review!

DSC_1244

I don’ really know what to make of this product, I do like that its affordable, easy to apply and obviously i like that it dries matte however it does have its downsides.

You must be careful when you are eating oily food or drinking with these. If they get too wet they can begin to break up on the lip. If you reapply and layer another layer on top… it doesn’t leave the best finish.  In fact, it can tend to go a little clumpy and patchy! Removal and re-application is the way to go.
So, unless you are a very careful eater, these are preferred for parties and shopping dates – and if you are opting for a drink or two, make sure to use a straw! They won’t transfer on to your dates lips, either. Just sayin’! 😉
Can we just take a moment to notive how cute the packaging is? I love how simple but effective it is. It definitely caught my eye when i was in boots.
I did personally find it tricky to take off, it definitely isn’t going anywhere when it’s on, unless you do as I just stated. I do really like that it gives a good range of colors to chose from. I do think I like the product more than I hate it and urge you to have a go, I would be re using this, just with the thought of what my plans are.

Collections Primed And Ready Review!

DSC_1243

I must say I am a huge fan of this product, who says you have to pay over the top for the best? Sometimes you just have to shop around, even the cheaper brands too. Collection do different types of primers, depending on the kind of result you are looking for. I personally being a matte girl went for the mattifying primer.

Four, new and utterly affordable priming solutions, that combat various cosmetic issues without breaking the bank. From glowing skin to crease-less eyeshadow and even a formula that aides blemish prone skin, Collection have all bases covered (sorry, this pun wrote itself) and here is why you should add one of the new additions to your stash.

A true gel based primer that has been created to gently smooth and perfect the skin, creating the most picture perfect canvas imaginable, all the while gently hydrating the complexion too.If you are familiar with the likes of Benefit the Porefessional Primer then I have no doubt you will enjoy this. This primer works hard to keep your make-up in place all day long(Obviously with different skin types this will differ, I got lucky with pretty much normal skin) collection is a brand that has slowly but surely won me over in the last year or so, if this collection is anything to go by I’m excited to see what the rest of 2016 brings.

NARS Vs Collection Concealor

So I’ve never really branched out with my concealers, I’ve always just stayed to the same one,  I find really hard to get a good one. These are by far my top two favs, I tend to just stick to these most of the time. It’s a tight call between them because I have to say they are both very good.

I will say however, the Lasting perfection concealer just wins it for me. Both concealers blend really well and are very easy to apply, both cover up any unwanted blemishes really well and last all day which for me is very important.

The two things that win it for me is that The Lasting Perfection concealer is considerably cheaper while they both do pretty much the same job. The lasting perfection concealer isn’t as bright as the NARS, now I know that’s what a lot of people like but for me to blend into the foundation with out being too out there is very important.

NARS:

  • Covers up blemishes really well
  • Blends well
  • Easy to apply
  • Don’t need too much product
  • Lasts all day

Lasting Pefection:

  • Covers up blemishes really well
  • Blends well
  • Easy to apply
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to find
  • Not too bright
  • Lasts all day

So while I do really enjoy both these products, The lasting perfection is a great dupe for the NARS, or even better.

Nails Ink Review

IMG_2858[1]

I’m not 100% sure but I think pretty much every Brown Thomas has a Nails Ink Counter in Ireland, don’t hold me to that, I could be wrong. I’ve been to the counter in Cork a good few times at this stage and I have a voucher to be used and to be honest I think that is the last time I will go back.

The majority of the time my experience has been good however I have had to go back twice with a problem with my nails(I always get a gell manicure). My first problem was when there seemed to be bubbles under the polish after only just a week and my second problem was the color of the polish changed which I was very unhappy about, It was a terrible color. I go to the counter in the store in Cork. These problems shouldn’t be happening when I’m paying 40 euro for a gell manicure, that’s very expensive compared to other places. Now I was able to get them re done free of charge however this is time I don’t have and should have been done properly in the first place.

Like I said the  majority of the time I’ve had a good experience however after I use up my voucher I wont be going back and to be honest I don’t really recommend it. Very over priced.
