DIY DECOR

image                                                                                        Last summer my room was looking a bit bare and I got very much Tumbler inspired. I spent ages online looking for great ways to decorate my wall when I thought of the idea of a quote. Its a great way to wake up in the morning and have something positive to start your day with. I have always loved the quote “Life Isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, It’s about Learning to dance in the rain”

Things you will need:                                                                                                                         – A magazine (preferably gardening/house decor to add colour)                                             —  -Coloured paper                                                                                                                                     — Pencil                                                                                                                                                          -Scissors                                                                                                                                                      -Blue tack                                                                                                                                                    -Fairy lights(I bought mine in primark)

Step 1:                                                                                                                                                      Chose a quote, write out letters needed on sheets and cut them out to create stencils.                                    image

Step 2:                                                                                                                                                Once you have your stencils made, you can then tear out the pages from your chosen magazine that you want to use.                                                                                                              Make sure to don’t chose pages that are similar colours to your wall as the quote will blend in the the wall and you won’t be able to read it chose different colours to add variety.

Step 3:                                                                                                                                                You can now use your stencils on your chosen magazine pages, then cut them out to create your chosen letters for your quote.

Step 4:                                                                                                                                                Then, you start sticking the letters to your wall using blue tack, to create your quote.            Make sure your words don’t start sloping, keep them in line with eathother.

Step 5:                                                                                                                                               Now you have your chosen quote on the wall you can add your fairy lights. I attached my fairy light with blue tack (you can barley see it) and then haven’t fallen down yet. The fairly lights add an extra piece of decor and make it look super tumbler themed.

I hope this post gave you a creative idea to decorate your room.
